Seeing the Shenmue III kickstarter gives me hope for another Sega series

One of the great things that happened this past E3 2015 was the announcement of  a sequel to a 14 year old game. Shenmue II. Sony even brought Mr. Yu Suzuki on on the stage to announce and launch the Shenmue III kickstarter. While the Kickstater funding is still going on, the project has already reached it's main goal...

The game I would like Sega to either remake or do  a sequel for is Streets of Rage (known in Japan as Bare Knuckle)  A side-scrolling "beat 'em up" style of game where a group of friends fight their way to a a powerful crime boss.

The latest thing being done with the license was a port to the Nintendo 3DS with the added stereoscopic 3D effect and extra options like setting the amount of starting lives and even a level select. What I'm wishing for is not  remaster but a full, official Streets of Rage 4 for PS4, XBOX One and PC (via Steam)

 Continued...

This would be my initial wishlist of items for a possible Streets of Rage sequel
  • Re-add the support/assist specials - Since a modern  gamepads have more than enough buttons as opposed to 3 or six like the Mega Drive/Genesis
  • Have Adam, Axel, Blaze, Skate,  Max  and even create a new  character playable
  • Keep the game's setting in the late 80s early 1990s style levels
  • Use the 2.5D graphics
  • Have a special team-up attack for the different pairings in 2-player co-op; Mapped to it's own button.
  • While it would be great to have Yuzo Koshiro to come back and do new music, The community at OverClocked Remix could come together and make a good soundtrack
While this is never likely going to happen due to to the style of gameplay and Sega has had a terrible time ever bringing back game series from their library. The best example is Golden Axe. So if Shenmue III could happen then SOR/BK could happen.
