Games I'm currently playing: Aliens versus Predator for The PC

Not the remake but the old-school one. Released around the same time as the original Half - Life if i remember correctly.  Aliens Versus Predator is a First Person sometimes shooting other times clawing, other times stealth action game from the 1990s. Just look at the rendered computer setups in the screenshot! I got the game for free by supporting and testing the online multiplayer.

 In order to take this screenshot I was playing as a Marine/Human with the Pulse Rifle at the ready.  The game runs even on the most current releases of Windows at Max graphical quality.  I want to talk about the map seen in the screenshot...




 I would guess that these computers were either late Intel Pentium 1 or some mid range Intel Pentium II powered computers. Thankfully computer tower designs have gotten better over the Decade.  A thick CD jewel case seen in the center of the image. Those keyboards are probably the loud IBM keyboard. Loud "tak", "tak", "tak".


The Office map is one of the silliest maps I have ever played in the game. The top two floors of the map feature the office with tables, chairs and meeting rooms.  The lowest level of the map is flaming hell.  One wrong step and anyone from the 3 playable species can be hurt by fire/environmental damage. 



Consider the spawn points for the Marine weapons.

• Grenade Launcher is found on top of a filing cabinet in the office area
• Single, standard sidearm can be found in one of the restooms
• The Iconic Smartgun can be found in a different restoom
